Cheers!

Why would they take it into YHM when MyTravel flies into YYZ for regularly scheduled service? Any ideas?

Cost.

YYZ is too expensive for an over-night stay.

I've heard rumors that the Concorde was also used for these kind of flights, but I don't know for sure.

It's fully booked by now, but the tour was open for bookings from anybody. The price was DKK 39,995 including hotels, excursions and most meals.

Rdwooty is correct, they're going to Niagara. The airplane arrives at 14:05 on the 22nd, and leaves at 17:00 on the 23rd. So if you deduct the time spent in passport control, waiting for baggage, check-in, and security, they will have less than 24 hours outside of the airport.

Some pretty cool routings. However, I wouldn't fancy spending that much time on an A330 with another 400 pax - not much room. crowded

I'm here to help you.

405 people on a A333? The 2-class planes CX use has 311 seats, 3-class only 251. Im not sure I'd like to pay 39k DKK for this when you can get a Star Alliance Round-the-World in Business Class on SQ (and others) for less  Smile

The MYT A330-300 I came back from Cancun on in summer (OY-VKG) had 370 seats arranged 2-3-2 in premium and 2-4-2 in standard. How have they managed to get an extra 35 seats in?

The Danish division of MyTravel (DK) has three A333s with more than 400 seats. During the summer, they usually fly from CPH, ARN, OSL and other Scandinavian cities to destinations in Spain, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Cyprus, or other places close to the Mediterranean.

I totally agree with you. But you also have to remember that included in this price is hotels, most meals and excursions for three weeks.

According to www.mytravelairways.dk (see url below) OY-VKG and the two other A333s have 405/408 seats, while the single A332 has 360 seats, 49 in royal and 311 in tourist class. The A333 normally does not have any royal class. When it's flying in a one-class configuration, it has 3-3-3 seating in the front cabin.

The CRTWSTAR1 with 15 stops / 24 flights on any Star Alliance carriers in Business Class is about DKK32000 (could not find the exakt price on a quick search) which still gives you more than $1k USD for hotels and meals.

Sure - its about the same price but compare flying a packed A333 with charter tourists with relaxed life in a SpaceBed on second floor 744 with SQ service  Wink

I just finished my CRTWSTAR3:

Cost and closer to Niagara Falls

They should be faster on their way than going trough YYZ as YHM is about
45 min. closer to the falls.

If I remember right back in the early 90's, but it was quite expensive.

Surely they would use less fuel flying the opposite way round the world. Meaning less time for all on the aircraft and it would be a bit cheaper too!

Thanks, interesting... in that case, is it possible that they re-fitted it slightly to make it compatible with the UK fleet? (As far as I know it was on lease to MYT UK all last summer.) I flew outbound on an A330-200, so it would seem that the -300 would need to be interchangeable on routes with the -200. I could have sworn it had the Premiair Gold cabin, but I could be mistaken... but the MyTravel inflight magazine definitely stated it as having 370 seats.

Also, they have no PTVs in standard like the -200s do... grrrr!  grumpy

checkmark  or hopefully they are not going to Toronto and hence no point flying to YYZ.  Big grin

Yes, but this would mean a lot of redeye flights and people tend to better adjust to longer days than shorter days, at least when on vacation.

So they picked SFO as well? In a C172 just landing costs you $118.00. Crazy ass prices here in the Bay Area.

Best.

Thats the first thing that I thought of, doesnt sound very comfortable to me.

Several tour operators do custom round-the-world trips with a dedicated aircraft.......usually these are superluxury arrangements with very, very comfortable aircraft equipped with biz class seats......say 60 to 70 persons on a 752. Obviously, the price card is very d
