Does anybody know the status of Custom Air Transport and them getting Boeing 757's? I see their 727 here in MKE all the time flying for UPS. I heard they were looking at getting 757's not sure to supplement the 727's or to replace them. I know they have been flying for UPS since the Menlo merger but I thought UPS was going to take over that flying also but that subject has been mum, even the pilots aren't sure?? Cool looking paint job on the planes none the less.

World Airways also flies two freighters a day for UPS Supply Chain Solutions (formerly Menlo). You are correct that UPS's publicly-announced plan appears to be to bring that flying into UPS Airlines and away from the contractor network.
See the following press release, about moving heavy freight to Louisville:
This press release didn't mention the other DC10F, and for a short while, it didn't appear that World was indeed flying that domestic DC10 turn (DAY-LAX). Then, after it appeared that Arrow and others were late on a few flights, World returned. Although I can't find it, I believe that another press release came out then about Menlo, or it could have been a comment made in an investor conference call; either way, it seemed to indicate that the second DC10F would fly until June, and it seemed to indicate that both that and the other DC10 would fly until June. Hard to analyze whether it would fly *after* June.
Of course, what happens to World doesn't necessarily reflect UPS's plans for CAT. Contracting until at least June doesn't mean that flying won't continue after June, or can't be discontinued before June, but it might give a clue as to the present thinking of UPS management, which is, of course, subject to change.

Hey thank you for the info Wjcandee. Yeah its weird the whole contracted flying for UPS, I was told that CAT was to fly for UPS until after this past Christmas peak of 2005 then UPS would be taking over the flying, here in MKE the CAT 727 would then switch over to a UPS 757, well that still hasnt happend. We had a fuel auditor from CAT here about a month to two months ago and he had mentioned they had 18 727's and were looking for 757's to expand, but didnt say much more than that, I'm still working on my CAT hat from him haha The CAT website isnt the best either not much there looks like a fifth grader made it??

June 30th last day for the Dayton hub. What happens to CAT, World, Express.net and Kalitta after that who knows. I'm sure there is plenty of other freight that needs to be moved elsewhere.

I take it that that's something you picked up since our exchange? If so, I guess it confirms that June 30th amendment of the World contract end date. (OTOH, I guess they could still fly, except to SDF instead...)
Here's the funniest thing about CAT's silly web site...it looks like someone, 3 months ago, posted several photos of I guess what they're suggesting is defective work on the landing gears, and nobody has deleted them, or maybe even noticed. Funny.

Yeah I love the pictures of the landing gear all fubared up on the company website, now there is the place I'm going to give my business too!!! Another thing that I had heard was CAT was going to do like Tradewinds and pick up some old junker 747's that no one else wanted and start service over to China since that is such a large and growing market? But I wont beleive it till I see a 747 that has CAT painted on the side of it
