Hey guys,

Well, right now I'm stuck at SFO because I lost my connection to MIA due to "bad weather" coming from MRY. I fastly went to one of AA counters and they booked me on a flight from LAX, scheaduled to depart at 21.20 tonight. I will go to LAX with American Eagle and will have plenty of time to goof around the airport.

So, I'll need you guys to help e out here, I don't want to spend 5 hours doing nothing at LAX!

Thanks in advance guys!

Enrique.

You can always catch a cab down to In N Out or grab the parking shuttle for free. I don't know what the weather is like but if it's like it is now here (SFO bay area) you'll want to stay inside. I say tour the terminals.

Best.

Matt

Definitely go to the Encounter restaurant (The revolving one) and have a few drink there and you can watch planes take off and land and possibly meet some interesting airplane nut.
Enjoy

If you really want to kill some time walk all the terminals.... LAX is a HUGE airport. There are shuttles that will take you from airport to airport. However, I think you might be stuck in a mini-terminal if they don't require you to leave. If you do, then I suggest you go back to the check-in, get checked in for your next flight and hack up the $20-$60 a visit and go sit in a club room. Great way to kill time.

That or you can book a later flight out of SFO and go into the city via BART. Allow 30min each way to and from the airport if you choose to do this.

All my best,

Matt

Weather is quite fine down here in socal. Just mostly cloudy with light winds. To answer your Question, no you cant move to any other terminals other than terminal 4. If you have 5 hrs.. i suggest spending time in the admirals club. You can buy a day pass for $50 and IMO, its well worth it. As Matt said, you can also take a cab to In-N-Out, but i wouldnt suggest taking a parking shuttle since you are not allowed to and they can get a little on the pissy side since you dont have a car parked there. If you want a cheap way, take LAXShuttle Route C to the LAX City Bus Center, then the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus route 3 to In-n-Out. The LAXShuttle is free while the Big Blue Bus is 75 cents.
Regards,
Nick

Yeah, weather is great here. We had the bad weather already.

If you want to get both a good hamburger and watch planes, I suggest the In-N-Out as well. Get a 'double double' and a shake. I don't like their fries, but some people do.

Then take it outside and watch the heavies land over your head. Mostly, there will be WN 737s and AS jets, but there will be occasional jumbos and 777s and 340s.

It wasn't bad per se; it was 'bad' because SFO isn't able to accomplish visual approaches and they had an overflow situation that caused them to start a flow program. It was over after about an hour.

You can take the Lot C bus and then walk. It's really not that far, and its nice day today (at least comparedwith yesterday).

No, T4 is self contained. It is the nicest of the terminals these days as it underwent a major reconstruction just before 9/11.

Encounter doesn't revolve (or rotate for that matter). It is also over priced

For good food with a great view that isn't In N Out, I recommend the Proud Bird, which is on Aviation Blvd.

Or Imperial Hill to see plane going out.

Imperial hill is harder to get to if you have to get back to the airport in time. I'd reccomend the Encounter, unless you've got a night stayover. In that case, I'd hit Imperial and In-n-Out. If you get a chance and you have wheels, the 105 freeway turing right over Sepulveda gives a TERRIFIC view of the cargo ramp. Last pass I saw Travolta's 707 again.

It only takes five years to go from rumor to standard operating procedure.

No kidding, the cheapest food item on the menu when I was there last August was $17.

It's a fun place to go to once, but it's not cheap enough and the food isn't good enough to make a habit of it.
