I got a boatload of miles credited to my Lufthansa Miles&More account recently due to the merger of the Swiss Travel Club and the Lufthansa Miles& More program and due to some newspaper subscriptions. A few days ago I realized that I even have so many miles to book a so called "fly-smart" flight to the USA. A flight on LOT is pretty interesting for me because they are still operating two 767-200s (SP-LOA and SP-LOB).
Does anyone know where LOT's 762s are flying to? Do they even fly regulary to the USA or do they only serve flights to other destinations? Is there a flight which is always operated by the 762? I don't want to spend so many miles just to find out that the equipment for my flight changed and I have to fly on a 767-300 on which I already flew countless times.

Do you have access to Usenet (i.e. News)? You might ask on pl.rec.lotnictwo newsgroup, there should be some people who might know this. Group language is, of course, Polish, but I think occasional English will only do them good for language excercise

I have seen LOT 762's in ORD pretty regularly over the past eight or so years. I think the route is usually a mix of 762/763's.

Thanks for the tip, I will ask there and I will even post my question in Polish (a friend of me is from Poland and I am sure that she will translate a short text for me).

I just made a few quick searches on Amadeus.net and it seems that all of LOT's North American destinations get served with a mix of 762 and 763, there is no route which is operated with the 762 only.

Patrick,
My friends are correct. KRK---> JFK, ORD and WAW ---> YYZ, JFK,EWR,ORD all get a mix of the aircraft.
I must say that usually KRK ---> JFK and ORD is scheduled with a 762 than a 763 because the demand is less than to Warsaw even at high summer season. (even though the majority of Polaks in Chicago are from Krakow/Tarnow)
I do suggest you make the Warsaw-Chicago hop though, Its the longest out of the LOT pond hops and certainly you fly into the best airport in the world

That is the truth. KRK gets 762 more often than WAW on Polish side.

LO151/152, 153/154 WAW-TLV and WAW-KRK-TLV are often upgraded to 762 or 763 even though 734 equipment is listed. As far as the US and Canada routes are concerned it is usually a mix of -200 and -300. Also, last minute substitutions are possible.
Why don't you try LOT EMB-170 or EMB-175 (starting this summer) instead. Much nicer to the worn-out 762s.
