As the title implies,
Who owned Legends planes before Legend got them? I know they got one from Continental, that is N12508. But what about the others?

Thanks!
P.S. I think I am flying them from DAL to IAD in October, so I look forward to a new experience.

Legend's entire fleet is ex-CO. Four of them (including N920LG, the former CO Ship 508) are '79 vintage a/c built for TI. The other two are '67-'68 birds that came to TI from Swissair.

Some came from SR hunh? I had heard that all were ex CO and maintained to the highest order. IS this true exnonrev, that while they are, what 30 years old, they still are in tip top maintance shape and Legend should have little trouble with reliability issues.

Continental supposedly has a good maintenance record, so I guess Legend should have little trouble.

The two ex-Swissair birds were acquired by Texas International over 20 years ago. They were part of TI's fleet when TI's parent Texas Air Corp. bought Old CAL in 1982.

They are in excellent shape. I flew on Ship 533 (now N922LG) IAH-STL in 1997 and it looked like a new airplane. The DC-9s are missed by everyone at CO except the F/As and the customers.

Why do customers and FAs hate DC-9s? I thought people liked them better than the 727 because of one middle seat 3x2 instead of the uncomfy 3x3. I really like the DC-9s in CO, TWA and NWA

It's true there are lots of folks (myself included) who prefer 3x2, but a lot of CO customers have become rather spoiled in all those new 735s and 73Gs that have replaced the DC-9s over the past few years. Many of those same customers are now wanting them back when they get put on a COEX ERJ instead of a DC-9.

A lot of F/As at CO hated the DC-9. The quick turnarounds and often having to fly four or five legs per day drove them nuts.
