I has been over three months now since Independence Air ceased operations. At that point they had a fleet of 12 A319s. I did some 'research' on Airlines.net and Flightaware and this is what I found about them:

Reg: Ferried to: New Operator:
N803BR MMX Armavia
N804BR MMX,ORY Aigle Azur (not confirmed with a picture)
N805BR MMX ?
N806BR MMX ?
N807BR CWF Air Berlin
N808BR CWF Air Madrid
N809BR CWF Izmir Airlines
N810BR CWF Izmir Airlines
N811BR CWF Air Madrid
N812BR CWF Izmir Airlines
N814BR CWF Air Berlin
N815BR CWF Air Berlin

Can anyone provide me with information about what happened or happens with N803BR, N804BR, and N805BR?

Have seen a photo of the Aigle Azur A319 on another site so it does exist. A second A319 from either 805/806 is due for Armavia as well, from sources I've been in contact with. That would leave one unexplained...

I guess the same can be said about N803BR which went to Armavia, after it went to MMX. When those 4 (N803BR-N806BR) planes were sent to MMX instead of CWF, I assumed that they were already placed within a Mexican airline as opposed to the 8 flying to CWF. Or was they another reason for the different destinations? Maybe different owners or are they all leased by the same owner (ILFC? Airbus? Gecas?)?

That's a correct assumption.
N803BR to N806BR belong to CIT while the others are ILFC's property.

Volaris got two factory new A319s in March on lease from TACA (c/n 2657 and 2666).
It looks therefore that the connection between the CIT ex-Independence A319s and Volaris was wrong.
The allocation of N805BR and N806BR remains open.

Germanwings' A319s are all CFM powered ones. Ex-Indys are IAE-powered.

So we have two planes available, which are rumoured to go to Volaris (both of them), Armavia(one), and Niki (both of them). I guess buying and leasing out an A319 can be seen as good business, even if the airline youre leasing it to doesn't have a very certain future.

Both planes are still at MEX, I guess?

That didn't stop AB from getting the former DH A319s, which have IAE engines, while their brandnew A320s have CFM engines.

All of Armavia's A320s are CFM powered as well. Now their A319s are IAE. It may not be the perfect choice but if they need them badly, they take the extra step.
