British Airway's Houston operations started in 1987 as a result of their takeover of British Caledonian, as did their service to Atlanta and Dallas among others. B Cal used DC-10-30s on these flights, and so did British Airways for most of the time they still had DC-10s in service before they began to upgrade the flights to B747/777 aircraft.

BA didn't fly the 777 here in summer of 98...in fact we've never had a 777 service from them. The 777s were on schedules for a while but ended up never coming- the 744 came early instead. They went from DC-10 to 742 to 744 from 95 to 98. In October they will go to nine weekly frequencies with seven 744 and two 777.
