Today I read on a Swiss newspaper (sorry cannot find an online link) athat Lufthansa will auction plane tickets on E-bay. Prices will start at 1 euro.
Apperently this practise has been done before without much success to seel remaining seats, but they are to start it again!
1)Do many airlines do the same practise?
2)Would you buy your ticket off Ebay?
3)Why didn't it get that much success before? After all I'm sure one can get interesting bargains
Regards

One thing that LH used to have was the "Surprise & Fly"-Scheme... you could chose between several destination-categories at fixed prices, and about 7-14 days before departure, you received the info where and when you're flying.
I used that once and got a really good price to Washington D.C. - could have gone to (if I recall correctly) New York, Toronto, Atlanta or Miami as well, maybe even two or three other places.
I guess the eBay idea could work out well for LH - I've never seen another place where people so regularly overpay what an article is really worth...
