Hi
it was said on several forums in the past few months, but Dutch operator ArkeFly (TFL) is said to get an Iberworld A320 for the summer period. Arrival at AMS to be expected on April 26.
Is anybody out there to confirm this story? Or is ArkeFly getting other aircrafts this summer?
How about people who booked ArkeFly's 'Comfort Class' ?? They pay extra for better seats/legroom, but I think an leased A320 cannot supply on this request, does it?
Thanks for your replies,
Eric

Will it be only 1 aircraft they will lease? It seems they have a real shortage of a/c this summer, and 1 of their own 763's is leased out to BD.
The crew will be from Iberworld? Or locals?
Their were also talks about an A320 or A321 from BD, operating for TFL in summer? Is this still true ?

Heey Airbuseric and Schreiner,
How are you doing? Nice to see you here again. I can imagine OR has a shortage of aircraft. They currently operate only 3 763s that serve all their routes which is quite a few for only 3 aircraft (PH-AHQ/PH-AHX/PH-MCV). They already have two flights per week to Curacao and are planning to increase this to three or four per week. I don't know if they are yearround or just summer increases.

Roger,
PH-MCV operates for BD in Star Alliance livery, but still 3 767's in service now, (AHX/AHQ/AHY). According the timetables, they will operate a lot of European charters this summer by A320 aircraft. I think only 1 A320 will not be enough the cover their needs.

Oh okay, thanks for the correction. I totally forgot about PH-AHY. I currently have PH-AHQ and PH-AHX in the qeue for screening. Hope they will pass the screening...
And yes, OR has a very tight schedule with the number of aircraft and flights they have now. If they will add more aircraft to their fleet it wouldn't surprise me at all. More spotting opportunities for us!
They will also add a twice weekly PBM. I don't know when exactly, MP starts that route in November, but ArkeFly said they wanted to start asap. That seems logical to me, given the busy summer schedule to PBM.

Correct. According to their website, OR also flies the following international routes: PUJ, AUA, CUR, CUN, MBJ, VRA, POP, NAT, BPS, BJL. This is a lot of routes for just three aircraft. So it wouldn't surprise me if OR will even add more 763s to their fleet.
OR flies to a lot of destinations, does anyone know how they are doing financially? Are they making a profit?

But is there somebody here to tell us more about this? Where are the extra A320(s) and/or 767's coming from? Within a few weeks the flights will start to operate, so some info should be known somewhere...

According to this article http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/news/?id=13446 MP is also leasing an A320 from Iberworld. Are both TFL and MP leasing an A320 from Iberworld or could it be that there is confusion about who is leasing the a/c.
If both are leasing an A320 than Iberworld has 2 A320's and an A330 based at AMS for a while.

Interesting. Iberworld isn't a big airline, but it seems they specialize in leasing out their aircraft to other airlines? How many aircraft do they have now to use for themselves for the upcoming summer?

Iberworld is actually leasing the A320 from Go Air (VT-WAZ c/n 1597) and sub-lease it to Arkefly. I suppose it is easier that way for Arkefly which does not operate the type.

According to a photograph on www.skyliner-aviation.de/showphotos.main?from=3 Arkefly is operating EC-JRU leased from Iberworld wearing basic Go Air colours. It has a small Arkefly sticker on the fuselage. It was photographed taking off from Malaga on 27/4/06

Iberworld leased 2 A320's to Go Air (India) for 6 months. The leases are up and its summer travel season for tour operators. So back to Europe goes the airplanes.
