It looks like Germany becomes not only interesting for football fans in the upcoming summer months but also for plane spotters.
Click here for a detailed list* of all Football World Cup charter flights.
Aeromexico's 762s will be visiting many German airports such as DUS, FRA, FMO and HAJ. VARIG has a bunch of charter flights, too and so has Corsair (with 747). The biggest surprise is an Air Tahiti Nui flight which will arrive in HAJ from JFK on June 9th.
Enjoy browsing the list, it is very interesting.

Quoting Avianca (Reply 3): shame colombia is not at the world-cup and avianca had could send ther beutifull birds...
I am also dissapointed that LTU is operating all the flights to/from ACC, Ghana International would have been better for us spotters. Well, hopefully will LTU earn more money with the world cup charters than with their flights to China.
Also intersting is that LH will send a few 744s to TXL.

Thanks for the list, Patrick. I still wonder how Costa Rica and Trinidad are coming to Germany for the world cup? I don't even see a DE charter listed in the list, which would make sense in the case of SJO or are they coming either with IB through MAD or from MEX through one of the listed Corsair flights?

Quoting Sabena332 (Reply 7): Here is a LTU flight from Port Of Spain to DUS (no idea about Costa Rica):
Di 27.Jun 1215 POS LTU A330-200 POS Mo 26.Jun 1545
Thanks, I missed that.

I don't think the local football federation is so broke that they send their players to Europe on NM. LTU would be a possibility but they discontinued scheduled service to SJO a long time ago and I haven't heard of a single charter operated by them to SJO after that. Thus the only option would be MP, but then they'd fly the wetleased A320 to MIA before continuing on, and in the case of DE, it would make sense because Condor is the only European airline apart from IB and NM to fly direct to SJO from FRA. IB is an option since they fly nonstop to MAD 4 times a week and three times weekly through PTY, but then again, would they be willing to be chartered for a national team other than Spain? And if so, would they fly nonstop to Germany when the Costa Rican football federation did charter with them?

How about the fans from Togo and Ivory Coast? Will they will have travel to Accra to catch a connecting flight?
LTU and LH will have quite a hight demand on their West African routes then. Do you think there will be any chance of seeing LH 744 or A346's being deployed?

This list has been around for few weeks already and changed a lot (in arngood way) since the first appearance so my guess is that we'll see arnlot more interesting stuff than already listed. A shame that DRS has only two flights. But I think about visiting LEJ, Berlin and possibly the 777 at NUE.
