That terminal is the base of what is today. Before the "new" terminal opened in the mid-50's, the airport terminal was somewhat north of the present complex. I vaguely remember pre-1954(?), but the gates were all open. If you see the movie "The High and the Mighty," you'll see the old building in the final shots.

I have seen photos from that era but not this one, great time piece!

Trying to think how long the airport lasted in this configuration? My first recall of SFO is from 1967. It was 'kinda' like this....I want to say the South Terminal had been built by then...PS is all I remember being down there.
