Its a stubbed flight from flight 891. I was to late to keep the flight number.

A lot of extra sections recently for DL. I know here in SAV we have had one Sat, Wed, Fri, and SAT in the last week. All but one (the wednesday flight) flew inbound from BOS and outbound to CVG. The wednesday flight was CVG-SAV-CVG. I know that our BOS flights here in SAV have been doing EXTREMELY well. Most days that I work the 50 seat CR2 comes in and goes out with 40+ each day. Anyone know the actual load factors for the BOS-SAV-BOS flights? All days that the extra sections were added, they were about 20-30 minutes apart, and both came in full. Great to see that. Now if we can only get that darn SAV-DCA flight. Lots of people asking about it.

You can think the slow-a$$es at the DOT for not making a decision, despite Comair having applied for that slot over 3 months ago.

It was? The listed flight times are about the same as the usual DL 891.

I know. I mean honestly, what in he world is taking so long to make this decision? It seems like it could be a good flight. There is pleanty of demand in SAV, and we are not talking about a large amounts of flights. Anyone know about how much longer this could take?

DL9598 was a stubbed flt...Most airlines do this so ATC won't have 2 flts in the air near an airport (say ATL) This could lead to a very confusing conversation between flts. I know AA and DL call it stubbing but what other airlines call it...somebody will tell us soon.

Again...this is for ATC identification. The process inside the terminal will still reflect the original flt number(i.e. ticket counter/gate/flifo/reservations etc.)

DL calls its repositioning flts "ferry flts" and uses the 9900's flt number.
Most of DL's charter flts are in the 9800's.
Unless they have a whole slew of late ops and run out of numbers, they use the 9500's for stub flts.
