Does anyone know why United have changed the UA918/UA919 from Washington to Heathrow from a 747 to a 777.Ever since the 1st of April United have used the 777 in favour of the 747 which was the only United 747 service into Heathrow. Thanks

Quoting UTA_flyinghigh (Reply 1): I was scheduled to fly on one of these 744's from LHR to IAD; unfortunately on that day fools upfront made a poupovesque landing and damaged the aircrhaaft, thus got rerouted in a 772. Rhaa !
Count me into the 'missed the 747 on UA919' crowd...was happily pre-assigned seats on upper deck. Arrived at check-in and asked where I was going. 'Washington'....'Oh you've been moved to the earlier flight...a 777'. Normally I don't give a hoot about aircraft type but missing out on upper deck when I had requested those flights was annoying...even more so the fact we left late, about the same time as the 747!
