Roy's been sought after by a number of airports after our (MSY's) response and actions after Hurricane Katrina. Being from that area of the country (Twin Falls, ID), SLC is a perfect fit for him.

SLC's getting an excellent director, one who will do you all proud. He's had quite an impact during the five years he's been here, and he'll be missed.

My boss is to be named interim director while a national search for a new director is conducted.

Apparently he also helped Western a lot in securing their SLC hub. I'm really excited, sounds like he's done a great job at MSY, and I've only heard so/so reviews of our current director.

One question for the guys at MSY, do you have a spotting area? (Or, did you before Katrina?) We're trying to get ours re-opened, I'm wondering if Mr. Williams will be a little bit more reasonable in that respect.

SLC's ex-director, Tim Campbell, was an excellent director himself, he's now at BWI.....I've known him for a number of years now. Chances are, whoever's running the airport now was only asked to do it on an interim basis until a permanent director was hired.

We were in the process of setting one up, but 9/11 and the City of Kenner (where MSY is located) nixed that one.
