This comes a welcome shock, and a bit of necessary competition to BE at Belfast.

Great news!

Is it just me that thinks "Air Berlin" is a daft name for an airline now operating routes all over the continent?

More and more AB is expanding in new markets AMS,STN and the Spain markets, which seems to be working. Too bad they have the boring A320 on the ad instead of the 73H!!  Smile

why a daft name? it is not the first airline that has not a exclusiv dedicated service to the city that is part of the name.

Has the potential to take a lot of traffic away from BFS and EZY too.

Yes it is Big grin

It's not as silly as bmibaby, and slightly classier than easyJet

Well, obviously it has not gotten in their way in Spain, so why should it be a problem in the UK?

Indeed. Interline opportunities and through eticketing will make AB a much more attrative proposition for many agents too.

Northwest in the US operate hardly relatively few flights in northwestern US. Some could say that's a daft name then. However what both Northwest and Air Berlin have is an established brand name. Why change that?
