Hi, Can anybody tell me if JL base there 744's on certain routes. I believe that JA8918 normally operates flights on the NRT-JFK route. Of the JL744's in the JA890* range, I think that only JA8901/2/6/9/13/14/15/16/19/21/22 have only ever operated the LHR flights. Is JL's Int'l 744s all configurated differently. Many thanks From Timetable.  wave

It all depends on configurations of its 744s. Some aircraft have only CY while some aircraft FCY but with some aircraft having more premium seats.
For example, NRT-ORD, JFK, LHR are high business traveller routes so they have more premium class seats. JA8913/8914/8915/8916/8918/8919/8922 are such aircraft. JA8901 & JA8902 are FCY-configured typically based out of KIX, but the KIX-LHR is now 772ER.
JA8902 is now undergoing cargo modifications.

If anything, it would only be the 744s with the new Skysleeper Solo seats. These would be on flights to destinations like NRT-JFK and NRT-ORD. I've only seen the new seats once in HNL and that was because it was an extra-section flight and we had something like 5 extra flights that day, most going to/from NRT on 744s.

JL411/412 NRT-AMS-NRT standard by JA8071/8074/8076/8080/8081/8082
Although on May 5, JL will send an other 'layout' for once. Although this is quite seldom.

If you want more info, I'll have to check.

Incorrect,

JA8901 only offers C/Y configuration, in a quite a lot Y-class seats (incl. Upperdeck)

JA8902 is currently having reconfiguration at XMN to type -400BCF (converted freighter) and will enter service on May 27. This aircraft is not in passenger service anymore since more then 6 months now. But you stated that already above.

I flown on JA8901 and JA8902 in summer last year on JL411 and 412 route .

JA8902 for cargo ? No wonder the aircraft was in the old configuration.  Sad

JL usually shift aircraft series per 'season'. When you flew last year (I remember your tripreport), JA8902 was quite a 'special' on the AMS flight. Usually we had last year a mix of JA8088/8089/8901/8917/8920/8921. They now shifted those aircraft more to the Asian region.
