Hey everyone,
Just wondering what the status is of C-GVKI, the A330-300 Skyservice Airlines will take delivery of next week from My Travel (ex OY-VKI). Is this a/c in paint now?? They are adding premier class so is it being reconfigured because there will be 61 seats in premier or "Clase Superiore" as it will be dubbed. Does anyone have an exact delivery date? I had heard May 4th but could it be earlier? Thanks!

It has been in the MyTravel/SR Technics hangar at MAN for a while, last time I seen it on Tuesday it was still in full MyTravel livery. Hope it will look as smart as the 763's did.
Is 763 C-GJJC (G-DAJC) returning to MyTravel as planned for the Summer?

Is that the 767 that had the hard landing in Cuba?
what happens when a leased aircraft gets damaged, who pays for repairs? and can the leasing airline say that they don't want the aircraft back, instead ask for monetary compensation?

No that was C-GLMC, its now back in service, as G-SJMC with MyTravel, Boeing did the repair job. When it got damaged it was basically returned to MyTravel, and they sorted out all the repairs on the aircraft, which was carried out by Boeing.

I heard differently....The aircraft did indeed go back to My Travel in November 2005 but from what I understood it was Skyservice maintenance along with Boeing who did the repairs in PUJ. There was even a makeshift hangar built for the aircraft which was fast sinking into the tarmac at PUJ. Anyhow, JJC is still out in YVR as we speak but will be returning to My Travel in a week or two...
P.S. see if someone can snap a photo of the new 333 when it comes out of the hangar!!

Ricardo
you are correct on the repairs on the 67, Us and Boeing got to fixing that thing, the Tarmac and makeshift hangar was built by us to fix it. The 333 just got back from doing the Hadj ( Spelling??? forgive me ) no doubt getting ripped apart and cleaned out. Been hearing that the J class on the 333 will not be in till june 1. As this will be Sunquest / Alba's plane I would think that it will have the same paint job as the 767 and past 330's, Well RAV.

ok so just back from work and i have now heard this...
The aircraft is supposed to be arriving this Wednesday May 3rd at 20:30LT from MAN. The first flight is supposed to operate Thursday May 4th to DUB-SNN and then the first FCO flight operating Saturday...however I have now heard from some 5G people that the a/c is delayed and wont be in until Friday. Skyservice will apparently subcharter an Air Transat plane for the DUB-SNN plane and are looking for something for the FCO flight...whether this is all true I dont know but according to the sked I have at work, Wed. May 3rd @ 20:30 so lets hope it come a few min early and we can catch this bird coming in Wednesday

Regarding C-GVKI (OY-VKI), I had a little look inside the MyTravel hangar at MAN tonight, its still wearing a MyTravel livery without titles. Not sure when its due for delivery to Skyservice though.

Jetset7e7,
you know what it is doing in the hangar? Just a ususal check before it comes across the pond? or was there a mechanical reason behind this one?

Airman99o, I think its just the usual pre-delivery checks but its been in there since Friday 28 April. Seen it again today, still no titles on it, all the doors were open on it, but the hangar is busy with 2 Skyservice A320's in there, awaiting pre-delivery checks for service with MYT.

Quoting AC777LR (Reply 17): Does this A330 have the PTVs in it like the British Reg ones?
No, afraid not.
Regardless of country of register, MyTravel Group's A330-200s have PTVs (UK and Danish registered) but the A330-300s do not. Cabin of the aircraft in question...

C-GVKI made a brief appearance outside the MyTravel hangar yesterday, wearing a MyTravel/Skyservice hybrid. Altough it is not due for delivery till after the weekend now I believe. Pictured Below:

Due out for delivery tomorrow (Saturday). Flight deck flew out on Zoom last night to bring this bird home early Saturday. I hate it. Once again, Skyservice having absolutely no identity of there own, just another hybrid paint job, and now on a widebody? disgusting, simply disgusting.

Arrived at 17:00LT, departed for first flight to FCO-VCE @ 20:40LT. All went smooth, not diggin the colours though, doesnt say much for corporate identity.
25 Olympus69: When have Skyservice ever worried about corporate identity?
26 Airman99o: AC777LR These Crews were crossed trained on the B-767 when it came into the fleet. some of the guys/girls stayed on the smaller busses in the fleet. N
27 KrisYYZ: I saw this bird at T3 on saturday evening, it has alba tours markings on one side and sunquest on the other. I took some pic which should be online so
28 Myt332: What's the deal with the 3-3-3 premium cabin I heard about? What is SSV's corporate identity anyway, don't they all look like MYT / AIH's old livery?
29 KrisYYZ: At first I thought it looked good. But when I saw it beside an identical mytravel A332 at YYZ it looked pretty sad.
30 RicardoFG: I am just so tired of these My Travel/First Choice hybrid liverys. I mean skyservice is written in orange on VKI, all First Choice planes are in pink.
31 Airman99o: Myt332 I think the 333 in the front was kept on as the aircraft was going to be cutting it close to the first rome flight after the Hadj flying was do
32 Myt332: Broken seats? It's MYT and SSV, it figures. Do you think the J class pax will get part refunds? I hope they do! As for the paint job, well, do charter
33 FLYACYYZ: Just spotted it at FCO recently. The tail needs another coat of paint as the "MY" is still visible in the sunlight. No as bad as the Canada 3000 bumb
34 AC777LR: It is just a dry lease, it will be back in My Travel colours by the winter. I think its just the stickers they took off btw.
35 MIAMIx707: The best looking A330 has to be the normal, older and sharper Skyservice colors with the purple on tail and fuselage they had a few years ago. Great s
