Can any of you with UA contacts confirm that UA899 arriving in HKG today (May 3rd) from Tokyo and the USA will be a 777? I have checked in the past and that seemed to be the day, just want to confirm it and get to work early enough tomorrow to see it depart!

Thank you.

The Hong Kong Airport movements website (open to staff only) shows it as a 777.

As SkyCruiser pointed out, NRT-HKG will be a 777 from now on. This is not a seasonal change or temporary; schedules as far out as Jan07 still show the flight as a 777. Looking at the seat map, it seems to be a Pacific 777 with crew rest for pilots behind the cockpit which means that the flight will be operated by N209UA, N216UA-N229UA.

Aircraft arriving 4May should be N221UA.

Thanks 777man. Just saw a new coloured 777 land, which I assume is the one you mention. Good to see them scheduled permanently, although would have been nice to see more of the ones I have not seen yet!

CXFlyboy, You never know, UA does fly the Atlantic 777-200/ER into NRT as well so it's possibly that they may fly them to HKG as well. A search on UA 777s in SIN will tell if the Atlantic ones have gone there.
