There was a rumor that Regions air was supposed to operate as Continental Connection between IND-SBN and EVV but i have not heard anything since. The only service i have heard regarding Regions Air is the CLE service.

The lack of air service between Evansville and Indianaplis amazes me to this day, not to mention the lack of an interstate highway connection on top of it.

When I worked there our company had to have a King Air 3 days a week to deal with just our EVV-IND traffic.

It has make Evansville isolated in a way, and much more connected to Louisville, St Louis, and even Nashville.

They are going to be building the interstate extension of I-69 to Evansville from Indy...i think construction is supposed to start next year or 2007.

We have been hearing about that for a decade and there are still people wanting to sue to stop it. I think 2007 is optimistic and the completeion will be painfully slow as always in Indiana when it has little to do with Indy.

Hell, it took 40 years just to get a 16 mile interstate bypass around Evansville built.

I will believe it when they actually lay some concrete.

Just in case you are running on an old calendar 2007 is next year  Big grin

BTW.. the Indianapolis to Evansville route for I-69 is a done deal. No more "studies". No more games of big smiles for the camera. No more good ideas and talk. Construction will be starting shortly. Construction will begin in the southern half of the route and the route between Bloomington and Indianapolis will be the last part. This was accomplished when "Major Moves" got signed in to law.

There are some severly pissed people in the Bedford area and in the Indiana National Forrest that still plan to sue to stop construction. I doubt they will stop it, but they may very well delay it.

They won't delay it...the State has indicated that it will ask for a $1 billion bond if the opponents seek an injunction...which won't happen.

Thats new to me, but then I am a little out of the loop since moving from Evansville IN to Lexington KY, which is by the way, 200 miles from Evansville instead of the 150 to Indy and the drive time is the same, 3-3 1/2 hours. So much for the argument that it wouldnt be faster!

It's a smart use of an existing law. Keeps NIMBY's from crippling growth. They are using the same tactic to keep people from stopping the toll road lease.

Regions seems to be having teething problems with the Saabs. As I posted in the "Regions to CLE" thread, Air Midwest is complaining that Regions seems unable to get their new West Virginia-CLE routes going. The IND routes may be part of the same problem.
