Hi all,
I'm taking AF 95 (MIA-CDG) on May 15th and wanted to know if the 744 would be equiped with PTVs (I believe a few still don't have them) and is this the 744 configured with Tempo seats on the top?
Also, around how much could an upgrade cost to Classe Affaires (if I ask at the check-in desk)?

Hi Stefano, according to AF inflight magazine of nov. 05, the MIA route doesn't offer PTV.
It says that they will show two movies on the main screen. They call it
the programme rouge.
And how would you come up for the upgrade? Miles or Money?

I have a very usefull answer for you: maybe yes, maybe no
I take AF90/95 quite often and you're never sure in advance.
the 2 last times I flew it, I asked the eco seats installed on the upper deck which ARE equipped with PTVs!!!
on these occasions, the main eco cabin on 1st level didn't have PTVs
my advice: check in early and kindly ask to be on the upper deck, it's more comfy too

AF is operating a fleet of 16 B744.
14 of them are reconfigured with the new seats. Two versions are available :
17J/457Y (5 aircraft) or 40J/393Y (9 aircraft) This last version is the one normally used on MIA. BOTH versions have PTV's in Y at the Upper Deck on all a/c. 3 of them, F-GITH, TI, TJ have also PTV in Y on the main deck.
Hard to say a week in advance which aircraft will be used on a flight, but as "Varig md-11" said : try to check in early or, even better, call AF to choose your seat at the upper deck.
