SQ is now celebrating 30 years of services to New Zealand, and to celebrate are giving away 15 return package trips for two to SIN. I've put my name in the draw already

30 years ago, it operated a DC-10-30CF service using an aircraft leased from Martinair Holland NV. Does anyone have a link to a picture of that aircraft?

This was subsequently replaced by SIA's own DC-10-30s when these joined the fleet in 1979.

Time flies . . . its been 30 years since SIA began flying to the destination that is as close to being described as heaven as one could expect.

I was told it was a 707 to start with before the DC10 took over the route, 742's took over in 1980.

Anyway Congrates to SQ!

Apparently they will bring their new A380 to AKL for one revenue flight AKL-SIN next year.

Excellent, that wouldn't surprise me either actually.

Is it open to only NZ residents, or can Aussies enter too?

That's correct. I'm sure there's a picture of one of their 707s in the international viewing gallery at AKL. I certainly have a pic of one at AKL in one of my old airplane books. Smile

I may be wrong but if I remember rightly some services of SQ to and from AKL were using leased Air New Zealand DC10's.

No Pulkovokiwi. NZ never leased DC10's to SQ.
