SCK-Allegiant "exceeding Expectations", Am Delay?

I haven't seen this in the Stockton or Sacramento media yet, maybe this coming week. There will be a discussion at a Tues meeting.

The airport manager at SCK is on record as saying "that he was told by airline officials Wednesday that “advance ticket sales are greatly exceeding Allegiant’s expectations.”

But there seems to be some concern about AeroMexico. I haven't been to SCK to check on the remodeling project there but this article says the contract has to be rebid.

Apparently the original proposal said preference to companies owned by women and minorities. But the county now says that was not necessary.

The bids for remodeling an area for a FIS came in higher than expected and with the incorrect language all bids will be rejected and they will start over.

That appears to push AM back to Nov 1, assuming that there are no construction problems.

Fantastic. I knew SCK would work.

FATFlyer, any idea what this week's new G4 city is?

I am happy to see that advance bookings are going well.
I hope Stockton's hunger for passenger service translates into good loads for Allegiant, AM and an inter-state carrier.

Does anyone remember what routes Pacific Airlines (pre-Airwest) used to fly out of SCK. I flew them, F-27 or M404 of course, through there in 1966 I think but cannot remember what route it was. It's always puzzled me.

I recall when Hughes purchased AirWest, they had F-27 flights to SFO. Most routes from SCK have been to SFO and LAX.

Were they still flying the RNO-SCK-SFO route in 1966. That was the route Flight 773 was on when it was hijacked and crashed in 1964.

I'm thinking it was the reverse of 773 OR what I'm actually looking for is a PDX-EUG-LMT-RDD-SMF-SCK-SFO or similar.

Just a little info to add to this about Allegiant and AeroMexico.

In a meeting of the county Board of Supervisors yesterday the SCK airport manager was quoted as saying:

"Allegiant Airlines, which will fly passengers to Las Vegas beginning next month, is so happy with ticket sales that it’s considering adding a fourth weekly flight."
That would improve things for the short trip LAS market out of SCK.

And

"AeroMexico Airlines is set to provide flights to Mexico six times weekly in November, he said. The flights will depart between midnight and 1 a.m., and return flights will arrive between 9 and 10 p.m."
