Hello everybody. This November I am planning to take a trip from ord-lhr. BA now operates 742's on this route, but in the end of October this will change to 744's. Is there any way of knowing if these planes will have the new World Traveler seats installed? What can I expect in coach class? Pvt's available? How is the seat width and pitch? Thanks for any replies.

This must have been a fluke, but I flew on a BA 747-400 ORD-LHR on I believe May 12 this year. The return trip was on a 747-200.

On the 744 in the World Traveler section there were no PTVs at the time I flew. Is BA supposed to be upgrading the economy sections on it's 744s?

BA will complete the upgrading of the 747 interiors by the summer of 2001, this is according to their web site. Chris

Most BA 744s now have the upgraded World Traveller with PTVs. You stand a better chance of getting PTVs on the 400s than on the 200s, as none of the 200s are getting the upgrade.

I last flew WT in early June on G-CIVM and there were the new PTVs on this 744.

Patience, they've got a big 744 fleet, and the important routes are getting attention first.

I should think ORD is an important route, so you can expect PTV's.

But bring plenty of coloring crayons, just in case.
(Alternatively, ask one of the crew, they will most happily oblige )

And remeber, BA=Visits to the flightdeck
