Virgine Blue has been cleared by CASA to start it's first route between Brisbane and Sydney on Thursday the 31st of August. They are running a huge special launch offer of "$48 fares in 48hrs" deal. Apparently due to the overwhelming response to this launch offer the airline's website can't cope with the amount of orders being laid down. Impulse airlines is selling fares for this route at $66 one way. Congratulations to Virgin Blue on bringing low cost airfares to Australia and I'm wishing them the best!

Virgin Blue's third aircraft is in the process of being ferried to BNE from Europe. It will arrive, like the other two, from Virgin Express and be serviced and repainted in the colours of DJ by Jetcare.

Didn't Virgin Blue say that they were going to have an initial fleet of 5 737-400s?
