Hi Gang,
I was just wondering how many people on A.net actually work for an airline or in the aviation industry & if so what job do you do?

I work for British Airways as a Purser based @ LHR & fly on A319/A320/A321,B757 & B767 aircraft.

BAKrew

Mechanical Engineer at Hamilton Sundstrand which is a major aviation technologies company that makes things for pretty much every airplane there is.

The new department that I'll be working in shortly is Mechanical Product Development, but I recently worked on test stands for a certain new large commercial jet's electrical generators to be used with its bleedless engines while in the Mechanical Test Equipment department. I've also worked on the test setups of generators for a military turboprop. That may sound really interesting, but in reality most of the time is spent at a desk looking at engineering prints for layouts of different parts which is tedious. At least designing the planes pays way better than operating them  .

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!
