Tonight marks the 1st ever flight from JFk to BUD on Delta metal, to be flown on 763ER. Tomorrow is ATL to NCE, way to go Delta. Even though its a Monday night flight tonight, JFK to BUD, anyone know how many pax are on board? Is this also supposed to be big for DL in the cargo department? Also, JFK to BUD, demand was high enough that Delta is going from 5x weekly to 7x weekly beginning in August, thats great news.

I say good for them, E. Europe is getting to be quite a tourist pull. Any word thus far on how the ATL-TLV flights are going so far?

Very, very well in terms of loads (of course, Passover/Easter coming just 2 weeks after the service started definitely helped) - in the 90% region...Summer bookings look excellent as well...

Eastern Europe/CIS is definitely the place to go these days. The number of flights is still very limited, and most pax still use connections in Europe to get to the US. And those that want to fly nonstop are willing to pay good ticket prices for that. Sure that market will sometime be saturated as well, but for now, it is underserved, and likely to make DL some nice money. Now if only they'd start ATL-PRG.

Not the first ever flight... Firstly, PanAm flew the JFK-FRA-BUD route with a B727, than they started the direct service between JFK and BUD with an Airbus A310. After than DL got PanAm's A310s and its route network, they flew the route until the mid 1990s.

I dont understand why DL is not flying to PRG given they already fly to BUD. PRG is more a financial and bussines center than any other CE city and Czechs are richer than ony other CE nation, making more chances for flights being full. I really dont understand... Hope to see DL, CO, UA and AA soon in my hometown.

Adam

PRG might be added in the future but for now DL probably thinks it is served just fine by its Skyteam partner, OK.

If DL did start PRG, I would expect it to be from ATL. For now, they can codeshare with OK out of the NYC area.

Here's the seat map from tonight. This was taken from www.benedelman.org/travel/dlseats:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Business elite was full. Some might have been non-rev. Coach was fairly full. Should be a comfortable flight tonight. DL is going to have to keep this up! They've got to exit bankruptcy soon...

Well, maybe DL has a different statement, like yours  hyper
Anyway, I'm sure they have done some researches with PRG also...

Does anyone know where the 727s would stop for fuel en-route to FRA? FRA is 3855 mi from JFK and the 727's range is only 2400.

On their positioning flights, they probably stopped either in Gander and Shannon, or with just one stop, probably Reykjavik. Once in FRA, they were solely used for intra-European flights.

Hello,

I will be flying the NCE-ATL on August 10th and return on the 13th. Any idea what the load factors are? Really looking forward to that flight.

It is strange but I cant get to chose my seat online for these flights, as if the equipment was not yet assigned. It does say on my ticket B763 but the seating plan is just not available on delta.com

Way to go DL

Next flights: AF ORY-TLN-ORY; CDG-BOD-CDG; KL CDG-AMS-ADD-AMS-CDG; AF CDG-ATL; DL ATL-MSY-ATL; AF ATL-CDG

The seat map for DL 143 NCE-ATL Aug 10 shows approximately half the biz seats unassigned and approx 2/3 of the coach seats unassigned. The return flight on Aug 13 will not come up, but one can assume that the load at this point would be similar.

Had no problem looking up the seat map on delta.com for both DL143 (NCE-ATL) and DL142 (ATL-NCE). Also can be seen at the website listed in Reply 11...

SFO-DUB?!? That's a route that DL won't even be starting as a one-stop connection via ATL or JFK, let alone nonstop  Wink .
