Hey, I recall that MCD and NASA developed a throttle-only control system or whatever it is called with in the past decade, in light of the 1989 incident involving a UAL DC-10 ad Sioux City, Iowa. Has that system been implemented in any new aircraft since its development?

It was tried out on a MD11 testbed, and from what I have read, it was an extraordinary success. It is through a computer, and you still use the yoke, but instead of going to the control surfaces, the signals go to the engines.
