A United A320 just passed over my house going into ABE. This is definately not a scheduled flight since UA only operates RJS and Saab 340's out of Allentown. Anyone have any idea how to find why she is here.

Quoting AirEMS (Reply 4): How often does this happen?? I mean stopping for fuel due to weather? and is this the first thing airlines do before having the a/c go to their alternate airport?
It happens more often than people think espically here in Chicago where in the spring we get bad thunder storms and in the winter snow. The problem is that you cant always predict how long a plane may have to hold for a landing slot. If you check other airports in the area im sure there will be a handfull more that are accepting diversions. I'm not entirely familiar with the protocol in the NYC area but here you will see flights going to MKE IND PIA RFD among others, in this case ABE was the alternate.
