The US carrier started up in late 1981. It started operations with two Douglas DC-9-15s leased from British Midland (BM). The aircraft carried the Best Airlines names but remained in a basical British Midland scheme.
The airline was linking Florida with Buffalo (NY) where the aircraft and airline were based. From 1982 on some additional DC-9s came in the fleet and the aircraft leased from British Midland came back to the airline where they flew untill 1991.
But Best Airlines had to shutdown on 27 October 1985 because of financial troubles.
Here is a photo of one of the airline's DC-9s. I was however unable to find any picture of DC-9 with the basical BM scheme.

They also did scheduled operations into Gulfport. If I remember correctly, they at one time had two seprate operations. One in the south and one in upper state New York. They did not link these two together and both operations only had one DC-9 each. Imagine when it came time for maintenance. Half the airline was shut down.
