Does anybody know what this bird was doing there?
It was completely white and parked at D66 when I was watching. At first, from the distance, I mistaked it as JL17 (JA8921 in old colors) but apparently it wasn't. The pilot also had a British accent on this bird parked in D66. It was a long time since I've seen a classic jumbo at YVR, ever since JL got rid of their 747-300 service in October of 2004.
Eitherway, this plane pushed back shortly after JL. When it took off 26L, it was climbing like a rocket. So, I assume that there weren't any pax or anything on the bird, but can anyone provide more info?

It was an Excel charter from MAD. There was also a Corsair 747-400 from MAD that came in with the -300. I believe they were bringing Spanish troops to a training exercise in YYJ.
