Yes. AF is replacing the 773 for a double daily with 1 x A332 and 1 x A342. I don't know the exact date but it's in May.

Its actually 1 daily 772 and 1 daily A330 and the flights started yesterday. One of our IAH spotters got a pic of it landing on 26L parallel with a DHL DC8 on 27.

AF does not fly the A340-200. Only the A340-300.

Will be difficult as AF has no 342, only 343 !

Avoid 777 with 3-4-3 config in Y ! They are real sardine cans. (AF/KL for example)

Where will the extra 773 be going? I flew the 773 from IAH in Business in March and it was really nice. It seems that AF usually uses their 773's to Asia. Are they expaning 773 service to Asia some place else. I assume that they have to be.

Later on this year, Air France will deploy the B773 for the first time to Brasil and South Africa, when the daily GRU and JNB frequencies will see the 773 instead of the current 772 and 744 respectively. HKG and ICN will lose the 773 in lieu of the 772, in the case of HKG with a reinforced schedule.

My mother just got to IAH from CDG on this new A332 flight (5/9). It was half empty, at least that's what my mother told me. Plane landed at 7:34 pm, and it was just beautiful.

There was only one great looking Air France's F/A I saw leaving IAB.  Smile

There is no plan to replace the B772ER by an A343.

The B772ER used now on CDG-IAH-CDG is also (normally*) fitted with the new Business Class and First Class seat, with a configuration of 4P/49J/211Y.

Same thing for the A332, as they are all reconfigured by now, but with no First Class on this one, in a 40J/179 config.

3 aircraft (out of 25) are now reconfigured : F-GSPA, F-GSPL, F-GSPN.

Why sad ?
With the new Cabin config. , from inside, The B772ER is exactely identical to the B773ER ... just a bit shorter ! and I think it's better for Passengers to have the choice between two Daily flights, with two different schedules.

Wasn't at the beggining scheduled a A343 and A332 for the double daily and then replaced by a 772?

No. This flight has always been scheduled with a B773ER or B772ER, as this is now the only aircraft type in AF's longhaul fleet to offer a First Class product. And there is a demand for this on the IAH route.

A question to the IAH folks:

Which aircraft (and at which frequencies) are used by the other European airlines this summer to and from IAH?

Continental also has 2 dailies to LGW, 2 to AMS, 1 CDG

British Airways has several a day to London
BA2024 IAH-LGW 772 3:55pm - 7:05a Daily
BA0294 IAH-LHR (stop in ORD) 772 5:25pm - 11:00a Daily
BA2026 IAH-LGW 772 7:25pm - 10:35a x1
I think they have another LGW flight in the works as well

KLM
KL0662 IAH-AMS 74E 3:35pm - 7:55am Daily
KL0664 IAH-AMS BBJ 8:25pm - 1:05pm x3

Air France
AF033 IAH-CDG 772 4:10pm - 8:45am Daily
AF031 IAH-CDG 332 10:00pm - 2:40pm x3

Lufthansa
LH0441 IAH-FRA 343 3:20pm - 8:25am Daily

PIA
PK0720 IAH-MAN 74M (747-200 Combi) 8:00pm - 10:40am Sunday Only

Hopefully thats 100% accurate--if not I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Pretty much right on. As the summer progresses, BA2026 will go daily, as will the second AF flight. The CO second AMS flight only flies certain days of the week, and I believe PIA is coming in on Fridays now.

Not bad for IAH- who would have thought just five years ago that all four of our Euros would eventually have multiple daily flights?

You mentioned another BA flight in the works...what's the word on this?

If rumors prove to be true, we'll have an LH A319CJ lining up at Terminal D before years end as well.

I was mistaken - I was thinking of the flight you mentioned going daily.
