Does anyone know the schedule for converting Song's 757's back to the DL livery? Will they keep the inflight entertainment? Will this be done in Atlanta?
Any details you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know anything about this, but having flown with Songs' inflight service and entertainment, it will be sad to see it mesh into Delta. They say they are going to bring the ideas from Song over to Delta, but that most likely will not include installing IFE on all their 757's. Perhaps they will begin flying 57' service over the pond on specific markets like American has, what better aircraft for the job than the Song 757's with IFE. Just a suggestion
Pan Am has a place of its' own. You call it the world, we call it home.

You can do a search on this, and find a ton of information. Delta plans to install the Song IFE on around 100 planes- 757's, 737-800's, and domestic 767-300's. First class seats, with IFE, will be installed on current Song 757's. All planes will be repainted to Delta colors, and I imagine the colorful Song seat covers will be replaced by the new leather Delta seat covers. Delta's goal is to offer a Song-like product on all domestic flights over 1750 miles, and many flights in the NE-Florida corridor.

Nope. Jrlander had it correct:

Quoting SFOtraveler (Reply 5): I wonder if they plan to bring back food for purchase similar to Song on long haul flights?
They totally should! Their buy on board program was SOO good. Delicious sandwiches from the Atlanta Bread company. They were reasonable and combined with the free drink service, it was all put together very well. Especially on their transcon hauls from here, it was nice to have decent food at the right hour and not have to shove something down your throat at the airport.
I'm all in favour of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with keyboards.

Delta has said they are working on a food for sale program and will decide by the end of the summer. They need to be better able to predict demand which is what caused so much spoilage when Delta tried it before. Song offered limited fresh choices but lots of non-perishable products; that is apparently the way to go. I have enjoyed Song's Bistro when I have flown w/ them but they ran out of fresh food on me.... hopefully DL will offer the order on their website feature which I got smart to about the time DL decided to shutter Song.
DL will have a more Songlike mainline product than any other airline out there. B6 has a nice product but they won't serve anywhere near the number of cities DL will have its Song product in.

If Delta comes out with a type of deal where you can view a monthly menu and pre-order a meal on the website or when you buy your ticket(with $4-5 bucks tacked onto the final price) and can still choose to order via phone or website up to 24hrs before the flight to maximize revenue and minimize loss, you can thank me, because I'm sure someone up in management will take the credit and completely overlook my idea. I send the idea in and kept track of it, it has been passed up all the way to the executive level to see if is feasible and cost effective(i.e.-worth the cost of implementing it).

What is the timeframe on the 757 conversions? I have a First Class ATL-LAS leg on a 757 in September, and would love to watch some college football on the way out while liberating Delta of much of their alcohol.
