Ohh, this is a rather weird incident. Not to worry though, it probably isn't anything larger than a Trainer aircraft. There would be news on it like a sore thumb if it was anything larger, because the ATC would notice an Airbus or Boeing go off radar.

Yep, just read on bbc that quote: "It is believed the pilot may have seen a low-flying photographic plane.
Dover Coastguard said a light aircraft belonging to Photoflite, a company specialising in aerial photography based at London Ashford Airport, in Lydd, had been in the area at the time."
