According to a Finnish magazine for travel industry professionals "Ikkunapaikka" (=Window seat) Finnair's flights HEL-HKG-HEL will become nonstop year around from beginning of May 2007 when Finnair opens flights to KUL via BKK. Now Finnair flies nonstop to HKG only during summer and flights during winter make a stop in BKK.

Yes, KUL will take HKG's place on the three weekly that used to continue to HKG:

AY093
HEL-BKK 23:35-13:40
BKK-KUL 14:40-17:45

AY094
KUL-BKK 22:05-23:10
BKK-HEL 00:20-06:45

The other four will keep continuing to SIN.
(And during the winter, there's an additional daily HEL-BKK-HEL flight.)

Maybe you could've just checked finnair.com for the timetable?  Wink

But I'll be nice, so here you go:

HEL-BKK 20:00-10:45+1
BKK-HEL 12:30-18:25

As you can see, it has changed a bit from last year (by 3 hours).
So the whole BKK timetable will be like this (every day from mid-Dec to Mar):

HEL-BKK
20:00-10:45+1 (MD11)
23:50-14:40+1 (MD11)

BKK-HEL
00:50-06:40 (MD11)
12:30-18:25 (MD11)

Looks good in my opinion!  Smile

Does that mean no more daily SIN flights next summer? Finnair's current regimen calls for 4 weekly BKK-SIN services in winter and daily services in summer.

That's how it looks like... Although we can only see the timetable for May 2007 now, so if one of the new A343Es are delivered before summer '07 who knows what happens...

 sorry

Clever comment, but my www.finnair.com (international) shows timetables only till April 2007 ...

Maybe you could tell me where there is www.finnair.com that also shows timetables beyond April 2007.

This is true - only up to todays date last month.

I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!

Oh you though I meant winter 07-08... sorry, I meant next winter and of course the KUL flight is not operating at that time yet. Sorry for the mixup.

(Timetables are only published for the next 12 months (or 11.5 months or so), it would require an insider to leak us timetable info for winter 07-08...)
