For anyone interested in MIA, I was leaving my work on NW 26 ST and LeJeune Rd and their she is. EC-JCY, clean and looking beautiful. Shining in the spot lights, actually. She is right next to LeJeune Rd, but I didn't have my camera with me to capture her. Wish I did. If anyone is interested in an up close view of this bird, head over there and grab her while you can. Segovia is just perfect!

Why is the aircraft doing an overnight at MIA? Has EC-JCY gone AOG due to a tech problem?

So I guess she'll be out of here later today as IB 6122? So do you know if the incoming aircraft ferrying to MEX. Let me tell you she is spotless and shinning on the side of the road. You can really appreciate the the size of an A340 when driving parallel right next to it!!!!

The size of an Airbus A340-600 is impressive, it's a looooong and huge aircraft:

EC-JCY went tech at MEX Tuesday. Flight IB 6400 was cancelled and it has been at MEX until yesterday that flew to MIA. Don't know why it didn't ferried all the way to MAD. That means that yesterday there were three Iberia planes at MIA, IB 6122 MIA-MAD, IB6524 SJU-MIA-MAD and EC-JCY.

Also, on Tuesday A346 EC-JNQ went tech at GYE. I even heard that it went off the runway there but haven't been able to confirm it. As of yesterday, plane is still there.

Saludos.

Curious that two EC-J** registered IB A346 have gone tech, they should still be rather new judging from the registration sequence. Yesterday we had EC-IQR come to SJO and it came on time, despite the weather. Although Flightaware listed it as delayed.

EC-IQR went also tech at JFK this Monday. IB6252 JFK-MAD was 13 hours late. So not a good week for IB A346s.

I should be grateful then, that EC-IQR actually made it without any problems into SJO yesterday. Big grin Or else that would have seriously screwed my small spotting trip.

Well here's an update. Going to work today, JCY was in the rotunda being worked on for obvious tech reasons. Now, on my way home from work, she was out again tonight on the side of LeJeune Rd (same position as last night). Don't know if they fixed her up completely, or if there is still work to do tomorrow! Anyone in the know?

Captured her this time though. I sure will be posting it.

What a horrible week for IB's 346s, yikes! Judging by all the stories above. Weird for such relatively new birds - but 3 at MIA sure was cool!

IB does SJU MIA MAD? Since When? I thought SJU route was through SDQ?

Iberia has been flying MAD-SJU-MIA-MAD since the start of the summer season some days, usually on Saturdays. Next Saturday will be the last and then all flights from SJU to MAD will be non-stop again.

The SDQ-SJU flights were abandoned more than two years ago. Visa requirements for Dominican passengers led Iberia to serve SDQ (daily) and SJU (3x, 4x or 5x weekly depending on the season) non-stop from MAD.
