Does anyone know what happend to all of DH's Do328's? We just had one at our FBO(n328BH) and it was not an old ACA(Delta Connection) plane..
When the pilot started those Engines, I forgot how I missed that sound of them..
We had one flight a day from CVG to MDW and back to CVG I miss flying in that aircraft, If anyone else has 328 storieslets hear them...

If I'm not mistaken, the 328Jets were operated by ACA but owned (or leased) by Delta itself. When ACA terminated their contract with United to fly as Indy, they offered to continue operating DL's 328's, but DL declined the offer and pushed the planes out of fleet. They were either sold or returned to creditors...not sure if they were owned or leased.

I flew several times on the short lived PHL-JFK and JFK-PHL routes. ACA had this route and it was later switched to CRJ. Every once in a while ACA would fly in a 328 that wasn't even in DL colors but rather an executive transport theme.

Last I heard most were sitting in MYR and Kingman. It's a hard plane to place now (328 and 328Jet) with no customer or parts support.

My guess is that YX will take a few of those. I beleive that they are still looking for those 328's as well as A320 or B737's.

DL rejected the lease on the 328s as one of its first acts in BK.

Supposedly the guy who bought the 328 line in Germany says there is growing interest in Europe for the plane as an executive charter.... not sure if true or if he's just trying to recoup his investment. I kinda doubt the US versions will get moved out of the desert.

Yes skyway is looking for 328s however they ran the numbers on the delta jets and it showed to be very costly to get them back in flying order. So now we all wait and see what will happen. In case no one knows, the 1900D leases expire at the end of this year and skyway doesn't want to renew them if they don't have to. All the delta birds are sitting at MYR.

Delta had little choice in the matter. Delta's pilot contract would have prohibited ACA/Independence Air from operating the Do328's for Delta Connection as soon as the first A319 arrived at DH. This is the same reason that Mesa's Delta Connection service is operated by Freedom Airlines -- the CRJ-900s that Mesa Airlines operates for US Airways/America West means that Mesa Airlines can't fly for Delta Connection.

I would like to see YX pick up a mix of 328 jets and props. The 328 props could replace the 1900 on some routes and the 328 jets could be used in MCI. Anyone know when an announcement is supposed to be made?

Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

I don't think there will be an announcement, it'll just be a phase out, trust me, passengers won't notice until its too late. Big grin

When I was living in Columbia, there were a few sitting on the ramp at CAE near Eagle Aviation, but that's been a good 8-9 months, so they've probably since moved onto Kingman or MYR like you say.

There should be parts support. UK operator Club328 bought the remaining assets of AvCraft/Dornier to ensure that there was parts and technical support for their own aircraft, and also for third party airlines

Two former Delta Connection Do328 jets are still sitting in CAE on the Eagle Aviation ramp and are beginning to look pathetic. I'm surprised they haven't been moved out to the desert yet but just getting them flight ready at this point may be cost prohibitive.
