The latest Airliner World magazine reports that a new Austrian airline maybe set up called Air Rostrum. They would operate from Graz and Salzburg to Zurich in codeshare with SWISS with a CRJ-200. Three more aircraft would be added by the end of 2007. The airline is apparently linked to Ralf Schumacher

It sounds too much like spanish Air Nostrum, which also has full service CRJ flights. Are they connected?

Not a smart choice, if true. "Rost" means "rust" in German...  redflag

The news items said the airline has been set up by German and Austrian Entrepreneurs although it would be a big coincidence for the two airlines not be connected in some way

IMO they should go for turboprops for a regional routes like that, I remember when Styrian said before they went under they were looking at dropping RJ's and picking up Q-400's or ATR-72/500's  Smile

That's exactly what I thought. Air Rostrum? I would expect Air Nostrum to object to this name.
Denim Air changed the name of its scheduled operation from euro-hopper to denim airways because KLM cityhopper wasn't too happy about that name.
