I read somewhere on this forum that the DFW Airport Board was not going to allow anyone else to get the former Delta Crown Room and that the board wanted to use it for its own use.
Why would the board want the room? It is just for their own personal use before they fly out on a trip?
To me, if this is true, this is just another reason why if I were Southwest, I wouldn't want to deal with Jeff Feagan, Kevin Cox and all those yahoos over there, AT ALL !!

Why would the DFW board want to use the former crown room in the sattelite? Is the sattelite somehow connected to the main terminal?
Wouldn't a former crownroom in the main terminal be better for the board.
What exactly do they mean with their 'for their own use'? Are they using it as an office, as a breakroom, storage, or something else?

They're talking about the one in the main terminal at the empty end, upstairs, up the elevator across from gate 35. Not the satellite one. By the way, the crown room at gate 10 is very large, very nice and even has a putting green!

I read in another post that HP/US wanted to use the own in the satellite, but the board wouldn't want to let them use it, since they wanted it for their own use.
If it is about the one near gate 35, then it still doesn't make any sense for an airport trying to lure airlines on the one hand, and on the other hand refuse to work with an airline who are trying to improve their situation at DFW, because the they themselves want to have a nice room.

"I read somewhere on this forum..."
Why didn't you respond to it then and there instead of creating a speculative thread which is extremely vague and lacking any concrete information? If this is important to you, maybe you should search the forums again and comment on the appropriate thread.
The E Satellite gates are getting jetways so that US Airways/America West can move their combined operations there. Sadly and stupidly, the DFW Airport Board won't let US lease the old Delta Crown Room Club... I guess the airport board wants their own private club, sort of like they have their names inlaid on the floor of Terminal D
Someone else in the same thread asked for more info, but none was ever provided. Maybe FCYTravis can elaborate since he's the one who made the statement.

Did the combined USAirways want to open a USAirways Club at DFW? Neither carrier currently has a club at the airport.

United was going to move over to E. They wanted to use the old Crown Room at E35. The DFW airport board said no also. They wanted it for their use. So United said FU, and told them they will stay in B. United just spent a lot of money to upgrade the Red Carpet Club at B29. So thats two bonehead moves by the airport board.
