Just watched what appeared to be a "GO" airline CRJ-200 take off from SFO at 10:15 local. So get your tracking gear and camera's warmed up.

I was on the ramp this morning and also saw it parked at signature. It took off about 20 minutes ago under a Mesa callsign:

Happy spotting. She looks beautiful!

No flight plan?
GPS direct?
Will "Air Shuttle" be the call sign for all "Go" flights operating throughout Hawaii?

Thanks!

For those curious. Pretty much the same thing HA and AQ would file.

No "direct" on the Pacific airways. The fixes listed by Goldenshield are all of the waypoints that define R464.

AFAIK the Go operation does not involve a new certificate so the call-sign should remain "air shuttle".

Yeah, flying a non-etops jet over open water with no place to put down has got to be interesting. Though I think all the seats and such are pulled out to save weight, so you'd need a folding chair, a rope and some hooks to keep you secure for takeoff and landing...

I'll take the CRJ ferry flight anytime. Now what about these guys flying single-piston from the Bay Area (HWD) to Hawaii. That would be a little nerve racking, even as a pilot myself. Just could get me doing it!

Wow thanks! Where did you obtain that information from? And how do I get to be a dispatcher?

Thanks! What does AFAIK mean though? Mesa's "Freedom Airlines" (Operating for DL) uses the call sign "Freedom Air", so that means they're operating under a new certificate?

As Far As I Know. About Freedom, that is, in fact, a separate certificate originally created when the CRJ-900s came online for America West Express. I believe the new Delta Dash-8 operation in the Northeast will also fly on the Freedom certificate.

The picture shows the aircraft with the o/w exit open. Was the flight so long that the people on board just couldn't wait to get out and went through the o/w exit when the pilot took too long in opening the main door?  Wink

That joke would work so much better if there actually were pax on board the aircraft for a *ferry* flight.

Were there extra fuel tanks in the cabin similar to what Hawaiian did with the 717 deliveries from LGB?
