I am happy the YNG is getting this flight then. Youngstown is where my family has our "get away" place so we can cool off from the hot california central valley. Maybe I can try to work something out to fly Allegiant the whole way  Smile

Been years since I've been in the area including driving on Belmont but that is an interesting way to put it.

I wouldn't go to YNG, this is just how I feel. WN, FL, and US are just a cheap as Allegiant and these carriers fly PIT-MCO.

I hope this doesn't pull to many people from PIT. I doubt it will. Maybe US or WN can fight them off. What do you guys think?

The only reason to discredit an airport like PIT is when you know the airport you are tasked to market can't hold a candle against the bigger competitor. Pure hyperbolic marketing nonsense. I hope the G4 flights do well.

I am not sure I understand you completely, what is it you are hinting at?

In most G4 markets that is what they are up against.

BLI and FNL had no service so people were driving to SEA and DEN respectively. BLI is now the only outstation with 6 day a week service to LAS.

Rockford, Worcester, and many others have proven to work even though passengers could drive to another airport. I don't know what to think about YNG yet that is what makes this another interesting one to watch.

I think G4 will announce new cities after the IPO, and when they announce what new aircraft they are going to get. Either 737's or A319. I think they are leaning towards Boeing, but it depends on when they get take delivery or price.

I believe there are a couple of additional Mad Dogs joining the fleet in the fall, so there may be some city announcements closer to that. I think they will also look at reservations after the summer and possibly, possibly, move some aircraft around by changing some frequencies.

I wasn't aware they were doing an IPO. With new aircraft, I hope they will start PIE-LAS service. PIE's management just conducted a survey to which over 4,000 passengers responded and the #1 desired destination (one out of every three respondents picked it as #1) was LAS. The only nonstops between nearby TPA and LAS are on WN and US but the times aren't very convenient.

It would also be nice to get another US airline in there besides USA3000. In the last couple years they've been hit pretty hard, losing Southeast, ATA, Lehigh Valley Air, Boston-Maine(Pan Am) and recently Hooters. They've got a market of one million residents in Pinellas County who would prefer to not cross the bridge into ever-growing TPA.

Allegiant only offers flts on certain days... WN, FL , US all offer daily flts to MCO. so if you miss the G4 flt. you will not be able to fly stand-by on next flt. you are driving to another airport. and purchasing a new ticket.

Actually, it will be suspended in Sept and I think a couple of weeks in Oct. Most markets will be reduced during this time.

I love how folks on here hope an airline offering an alternative service to a market FAILS. I mean, in this case, just how many people are you thinking they're going to grab from PIT? Is PIT-LAS so precarious of a market that the thought of a couple flights a week out of YNG is that much of a threat?

I thought WN was the carrier that served "secondary" airports, relieving people of the stranglehold of the majors. How the days have changed.

Again, why so negative on G4/YNG? If YNG shouldn't have service, maybe there are a few other markets that should drive as well? Like CAK (drive to CLE), CMH (drive to DAY), BWI (drive to IAD), ISP (drive to JFK), etc.

Maybe I'm just grumpy, but it seems like sour grapes to get negative towards these tiny airlines that are just trying to make a buck serving markets no one else will. If I lived in BLI, YNG, etc. I'd be thankful to have a nonstop alternative once in a while.
