I searched and couldnt find any info....
Could anyone tell me the best time to spot in LAX at the In-N-Out on Sepulveda? When do loads of international flights and B747s B777s arrive? Im bringing some friends from Canada to watch, it'd be nice to see some big planes and not just WN 737s one after another!
Thanks in advance!

I would aim for the early to mid-afternoon if you're going in the near future. There's been a pretty dense marine layer (low clouds/fog) the last couple of weeks, so visibility is pretty low. It generally burns off by early afternoon, but even that is questionable at LAX since it's so close to the ocean. If you go mid-afternoon, you'll have a decent chance for good visibility as well as the European arrivals.

Anytime from 0800-1900. Personally I can spend the whole day there. LAX has a pretty good flow of 747's and wide bodies arriving all day. Even with the Asian push in the morning, you still get more Asian arrivals after the mid-day Euro arrivals.

The best time to go is definitely between about 12 and 2. You get most of the inbound European and Asian aircraft (the Asian ones I see flying over USC's campus where I work.)
Another good spotting time is at night between approx. 7 and 9. There's a big rush of domestic arrivals as all the planes come in, shuffle pax, then head back out as red-eyes from 9:30-11:30.
Go to a site like www.flightarrivals.com and select LAX as the airport, and you can see a chronological listing of flight arrivals.
Have fun!

I ate lunch there two days ago at about 1:30pm and watched an AF777, Cathay Pacific 747, Air New Zealand 767, and numerous others land while eating.
As I walked back to the hotel on Century Blvd. at about 3:00pm after shopping at Trader Joe's, I saw VS and BA land as well. I'd say go there between 1-3pm and you wont be disappointed.

I would love to go aircraft spotting there one day. It's just so unfortunate for me that the trip to LAX is so expensive for me as I live all the way in the Caribbean.....

I checked AA and the fare CUR-LAX for two weeks (May/June) is about USD 750 (excl. taxes). Not that cheap, I think this price is indicative to other airline fares as well. It's a 7-8 hour flight in total (excl. airport transiting times).

I don't think I'd pay that much just to spot at LAX either. Then again, there are lots of things to do in the LA area, including trying out a few flight simulators.

Sunset and dusk also are good times, for views of some of the landing lights and down the runway as the planes touch down. This time of year, sunset is nearly 8:00pm.
