On Sunday night a man flying from YYC to OKC via DFW, checked in a large military duffel bag containing two bear heads. The bags made it past security in YYC, but when the bags were x-rayed in DFW before being loaded onto their connecting to OKC, they were discovered by TSA. The bag and its contents were then refused by AA on the connecting flight to OKC. The bear heads were then turned over to a local vetinarian for proper disposal.

Airlines in the Lower 48 are such pussies when it comes to flying hunters around. I can't guess how many raw bear hides and skulls I put on Reeves Airplanes when I worked for them....ditto for AS.

No not illegal but since they had not yet visited the taxidermist, it is considered a biohazzard, thus it cannot be accepted as checked baggage/

Most Airlines will provided that they are properly packaged, they are no more a biohazard then any other wild game shipped...Which is probably why these got notice...when things start leaking that is when people take notice.
But I will say it again...Airlines in the lower 48 are such pussies.
