yesterday eveniing and just 2 hours ago....I saw a KLM 767-300 ( i think it is an ER) landing on RWY 26R yesterday and today.......at first I was not sure what plane it was yesterday....but today it landed over my head..........
does anyone know anything about this ?.....
I thought KLM had a rare equipment change yesterday but they are sending 767's to YVR?.............I am sure the 767-300 are ER versions............

If anyone has more info.......can u share this info?.....

Effective August 27, 2000 All KLM flights to/from Vancouver will be using B763ER instead of MD-11.

Klm md-11, you're probably right about KLM's loadfactors on the AMS-YVR route after peak season. Last year Vancouver featured regularly as a "Call and Go" offer (very very very cheap tickets). As KLM only releases seats for these tickets if a flight isn't doing well (which means poor load factor) AMS-YVR isn't very busy after peak season.

My source for KLM Timetable information is http://www.schiphol.nl . Go to the Flight information section and then flight schedules.

Jiml1126:

Thanks for that info you've posted......I apprieciate it.........but don't you think that YVR should expand on more european routes...?
like Paris CDG or perhaps Zurich?....Even though load factors aren't high.....

In my opinion KLM should have cut their daily service to 4-5 Weekly instead of changing the Md-11 to the 767 on the AAMS-YVR route....

B-HOX:
Air Canada did flies Vancouver - Zurich few years ago. Swissair was a code-share partner with AC on this route. But AC pulls out this route around '97(?).

And I agree that YVR should expands their European Operations such as Paris, Rome, Milan and so on...

And Why don't KLM just fly B744 and cut frequencies into 3? (I think that's the same capacity for MD-11/B767 to fly daily.

And did you know that Air Pacific is launching direct flight from Nadi to Vancouver via HNL by B738?

I would rather DIE than flying in a 738 for 5-7 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

In response to B-HOX, new European routes aren't possible YET because AC/CP is now currently short of aircraft. They are basically starting more new routes from YUL and YYZ to Europe while YVR still remains the "Gateway to the Pacific". Slots are always availible for other airlines though!!! Also, did you know that before SIA operated MEGATOP services to YVR to SIN via SEL but last year services changed to the Celestar (A340)..sniff..I missed them bad boys...

I heard that SIA is going to Switch from A343 to B772
on its most A343 route, including Vancouver.

European Airlines could start services if they have the rights to fly to Canada.....Alitalia or Air France perhaps could start service.......they both fly to YUL and YYZ....
however......I don't think a YVR or CDG will have high load factors....

SIA is trading in their A340 aircaft to boeing for the 772...... So YVR will be getting the 772.

Hi!

For my part, I heard from sources at Martinair (MP), that the Dutch airline, owned by KLM, may take over some of KLM's destinations. I do not know if it applies to YVR or YUL but KLM is lacking planes due to the sale/lease of some of its long-range aircraft.

T.
