I have been driving past the new construction area of Terminal 3 @ Dubai Airport almost everyday now as I go to work and today I noticed that there was a traffic sign board that showed the turning direction to Terminal 3 or the Entrance direction to Terminal 3 with a sign saying EK Only.
SO I presume from this that Terminal 3 at Dubai Airport is going to be only for Emirates!!!! Cool!!!! I think Terminal 3 will be ready end of this year cause they are working very fast. It is going to be A 380 ready as well.

Yeah terminal 3 will be for Emirates only.. as they do not have one for themselves now. Terminal one is for international flights.. terminal 2 is for private and chartered flights.. and according to their website.. its also for flights from iran!! pretty weird if you ask me but ok! haha
Should be done by the end of this year.. and i would imagine that it would accommodate the A380. I mean if any airport is to accommodate them.. its got to be dubai!!!

I have been thru Terminal 2 at DXB. Iranian airlines do go thru there. Duty Free is pathetic compared to T1. (although I did by a Iranian passport cover - real leather, very cool)
We saw T1 from the plane and cried. Damn T2 and its lousy shopping!!

I am yet to visit DXB... i hear that its poorly planned. Its a long terminal with a lot of walking involved and what not. I just hope our flight doenst stop at the other end of the terminal!!!

there's the "moving pathwalks" which are quite convenient...

I wasn't too impressed with the terminal when I went through in Feb. Even with the moving walkways it is a long way, especially since my flight left from the other end in the small area where they ready you for the buses. Not too mention the lack of seating. I couldn't believe the amount of people of all nationalities simply lying on the ground using their bags as a head rest.
Will the new terminal actually be connected to the old so you can walk through?

I think airports are attractive connecting points when they aren't too big or busy. I thought Dubai was quite good, but then my gates were quite near each other, and anyway after a long flights I appreciate the chance to stretch my legs!

One would like to think that for the majority of people flying between Iran and Dubai, the range of whiskies and cognac wouldn't be a key factor
it's the bus to stansted (now renamed national express a4 to ruin my username)
