Well, today is the last flight of an airline that never existed. Flight 1629 marks the end of MidAtlantic when it lands in PIT today.
The employees sacrificed greatly to get the division rolling, only to be stabbed in the back by management and its own unions. They should be applauded for their professionalism they showed all the way to the end, even when they knew the end was coming. (For some of them, this will be the fourth time they are furloughed from US)
Kudos to you guys, and may God speed you re-return to mainline.

shame the way it was conducted yes, but this deal was helpful in getting US out of bankrupcy. from what i understand, many of the midatlantic pilots are being sought after by republic now that they are operating the 170s, and also for thier planned future expansion.

That totally blows....it was nice of US to give the furloughed crews a 2nd chance though. Those cabins look nice..I mean so nice, its like looking at Skyway or Midwest...hehe, just paint the outside and we're good to go!

Here here! Good luck to all of you MidAtlantic employees. USAirways didn't just screw you over once, but twice. You are some of the hardest working, most positive people that I know and I'm proud to call many of you my fellow Pittsburghers. I'll never forget when I first heard about MidAtlantic and I thought that it would be around for quite awhile and that the furloughed employees a chance. I guess US had me fooled. You all provided some of the best service the USAirways had of offer and we should be so lucky to find a group of ladies and gentleman as a flight crew in the future. Good luck in your future!
Given the uniformly negative customer reaction to Republic's Embraer 170 operations, I'd say you'd better have the wait staff prepare for a larger group.
Like, oh, a few thousand.
There's some FlyerTalkers who, I'm sure, would love to make interesting dinner conversation...
The fact is that among US frequent flyers, MidAtlantic was widely regarded as the best Express carrier around. Its replacement, Republic, is now widely regarded as the worst. That's quite an achievement.

USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.
Quoting GGpillow (Reply 11): Then again, yer only a flight attendant with crew room gossip.
Well put GGpillow, well put. I mean heck, because he's an F/A that surely means he is constantly in the loop! I mean heck, we need to believe this man now, he's a lonely F/A!
FutureFO, you'll never be anything more than an F/A, I think you should change your user name to: Stuckserving50toMCO. Sure you may think an ERJ-145 is a step up from the 328J, but you're still an F/A.

By the way we do have a stake in US. Also Skyex you are a bit bitter yourself, as you will never be more than a lowly ramper at a lowly regional. Regardless of what you think, there is more to life than bitching and moaning that most of you do. But anyways, Look at the financials and the backers of US and you will see RAH does indeed own quite a few shares of the company.
Also the 145 is a step-up from the 328Jet, I also get to see more places than just ATW, MSN,GRR,DSM and all of the other garden spots that I flew in and out of and overnighted in.

I'm closer to being an F/O than you will ever be, so get your facts straight first. When was the last time you flew a plane or even sat in the left seat. Oh well, hope we don't cross paths when I'm an F/O and you're serving me the drinks.
The sad thing, is that you think I bitch and moan too much but hell, it's all the truth! You can't deny the claims when I've got people that very much so agree with me. When people outside skyway say the same thing, it's not just me.

Hmm sat in the left seat of a plane and flew, how bout 2 months ago huh???? I just can't see you in the cabin of a plane let alone in the flight deck. I mean ya the cargo area is your territory and you should be happy that you have that.

I was on a HP flight last Sunday, and the #1 F/A (West side speak for A F/A) was one of those who had been at MidAtlantic and took furlough, but was then recalled to the West side of the operation. He was clearly used to doing things the East way, and was struggling to adapt to the West way of doing things.

I was wondering, was this deal with republic made before the merger, or after the merger was announced? Cause if they signed it before the merger, then I don't see how anyone can blame current management. In fact, if what I am saying is true, then if prior management hadn't been so quick, ALPA could have gotten then 170's on the same scope clause as the 190's.
I know FutureFO and I have had our differences in the past, but I am going to have to side with him on this "fight" here. He didn't do anything to deserve all the harsh remarks you have been sending towards him.
Quoting S5FA170 (Reply 19): . So, hopefully you lose the attitude or no self-respecting flight attendant will be serving you a darn thing.
It's not F/As in general so don't worry. Most of them at skyway can count on me to get them out on time, every time.
Quoting FutureFO (Reply 16): I mean ya the cargo area is your territory and you should be happy that you have that.
It's sad, the F/As these days are getting very lazy at dealing with their own crew bags. Yeah, sure I'll put in in back or take it out, if I'm already in the bin. They expect us to walk over to the cargo bin, from the other side of the airport, just to deal with their crew bag. They use to be very self sufficient, oh well, times change.

Ya that is what you get at AL with the FA's there not wanting or are too lazy to load their own bags. At least we can keep ours in the cabin on the 135/40/45. I had no problem of loading and unloading my own bag when I was at AL.
On another point how many hours and what ratings do you hold???
In respect to getting flights out ontime it is good, but then how is it that Ryan came to MCO and left MEH.

He left because Brian basically ran him out after demanding every second of Ryan's time to the point where Ryan's marriage was in trouble because he was never home but busting his butt because Brain was making him come in sooo much. He finally got feed up with all the BS and took a better job back where he is from.
