Here is a video I took of Reno's 1st MD-90 (N901RA) Orange County Flyer - leaving SJC on a early AM departure from runway 30L. This was the same jet used on the Inaugural service from SJC-SNA, and this jet was also used at the Open House at ACM Aviation, which was open to the public the day before the Inaugural flight, I'm guessing way back in Apr 4th?, 1996....The MD90 sure was a smooth sounding jet, compared to the other noisey Mad Dog's. Check out my other video's linked on the MD-90 video page...thanks

That was very cool video. I miss flying on Reno Air. I flew on them pretty much anytime I could. I flown on MD-80's, MD-87's and MD-90's.

Any chance of another airline similar to Reno Air starting up? Perhaps my answer lies in Virgin America.

Great video. I enjoyed the rolling takeoff the MD-90 did. More fun than stopping in position and then going.

Does anyone happen to know which tail operated QQ913 SJC-SNA on 02 Dec 97? BTS doesn't have QQ data. I'm pretty sure QQ was only up to four M90's in the fleet at that time (N901RA-N904RA).

Excellent memories there! I miss QQ! What an awesome little airline. Wish they were still flying, but maybe one day we will see something similar. Nice videos, and awesome takeoff. Looks like both QQ and AS made a nice show for you. The takeoff banks were impressive on those birds!

Thanks for the Post. Maybe you could make a movie of the AA 777, so we San Jose People could remember when we got big airplanes. It may be a long wait after Oct 28th

BTW, in that video is the AS MD83 that crashed off Point Mugu in 2000 (N963AS).

As I remember, they drew names hourly and put them on a board. My mom's name ended up on the board when we checked it on the way out.  Smile

I noticed that too - RIP Ship 963. A horrible day for those families and for AS.

Thanks for the comments--
...I have many SJC AA777 videos, including the Inaugural for both NRT and TPE(with onboard/Ramp-water cannon salute- video of both flights before boarding & lobby festivities). I definetly will get more between now and the Oct 28th deadline...I've filmed most angles, and when they extended 30R , I don't go up to SJC as much because they depart on 30R...just isn't the same. They've also blocked my fav angle with the Intl terminal...so I don't chase the jets at SJC too much anymore, unless there is something good...as there are far too many Kmart airlines sticking their orange noses in the way..........

A330-300: good win,,,,,,I never get lucky on those drawings..

That is a haunting video of N963AS. Just the fact that I am watching a plane that's life so tragically ended and took so many innocent souls with it. All because one person was not listened to.

I have a video that has the AF Concord F-BTSC at JFK, was very sad when I realized it
