On DL's website it says that using miles from the previous Frequent Flyer program it is possible to get a round trip F award for only 25,000 miles. My grandma has 10,000 FF miles and 15,000 SkyMiles...would she still be able to redeem this award so long as some FF miles are used? Or do the 25,000 miles all have to be from the previous program?

Here is the award chart for the old ("frequent flyer miles" not SkyMiles) awards:
Keep in mind that to use them, she would have to have remained a Medallion since the changeover.
Nonetheless, if she wanted to redeem a current 25,000 mile SkySaver award, the miles can definetely be combined. Basically, if you haven't been a Medallion at some point, those old miles are basically the same as current SkyMiles.

Quoting DL4EVR (Reply 2): Oh. Even though she's been a member of Frequent Flyer/SkyMiles since 1981 or 1982, she never reached medallion status.
In that case, she has 25,000 miles which can be used in the current program. The old awards (referenced in the link I posted) would not be valid for her. When she logs into delta.com and says her available balance in the upper-left hand corner, the amount of miles there are basically all regular SkyMiles and can be used under the current program.
