I am sure that I am not the only one who say the specials that TLC had on tonight. It was all about Capton wiring, as well as black boxes and aircraft disasters. I am now a little more leery when it comes to flying. How can we be so sure that the airlines are checking the wires of their older aircraft. Good lord, for all we know, the entire fleet of United Airlines older planes could fall out of the sky in the next couple of years. I know that their are some pilots on this forum. What are your companies doing to prevent more crashes. I am from Canada and the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.(CBC) did a thing on it also tonight and they interviewed many of the same people that TLC did. At the end of the program they said that neither Air Canada or Canadian Airlines International would participate in the documentary. Interesting, seeings how Canadians flagship fleet is the 737-200. Most of the planes have seen 3 or more liveries in its time. I would not want to be on one of those. It is interesting to note that the FAA is more concerned about the playing down the idea that it is not a big deal. Seems to me that the TSB(Canadian Transpertaion Saftey Board) thinks that it is very serious.

I saw the shows on TLC last night as well. I thought they were very interesting.
The B737's that CP fly are old and are getting older, but I don't think they have had any major incident with them. Saying that, it is time for a replacement for them. I have never really liked the 737, and seeing those shows made the plane more unlikable to me, especially the theory of uncommanded rudders.
It is time for CP/AC to get rid of them, and I'm sure that within the next year, we will see orders for new planes to replace the 737's as well as the other veterans in the fleets.
