TAM today has inagurated their new direct "Brazil Hopper" service between Fortaleza, Brasil and Miami, Florida, via the cities of Belem and Manaus, providing an important daily link between the three northern Brazilian cities and the United States. The flight leaves Fortaleza every morning at 9.40AM, arriving in Miami at 7.20PM. A redeye departure leaves Miami daily at 8.30PM, arriving in Fortaleza at 8.00AM.
Despite the long flight time and two stops, it shaves three and a half hours over the quickest current connection between Fortaleza and Miami, which still requires two stops.
With TAM's introduction on the route, LAB, who now lacks a long-haul fleet, will suspend Miami-Manaus service, now routing all flights Miami-Panama City-Santa Cruz with 727s.
TAM now offers three daily flights to Miami with year-round non-stop service to Manaus, Salvador, and Sao Paulo. TAM also will be offering scheduled seasonal non-stop service to Fortaleza, Natal, and Recife for the busy Brazilian July holiday period with A330 daylight service.

So thats the reason PR-MAG has business class installed!
I flew her a few days ago and found it strange to see what I thought was a 1st-class section, its been a few years since TAM made all their 320's one-class.
TAM A320 biz class

I dont know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone

Second semester of 2004, right? I had the chance to fly CGH-VIX in February 2004. My ticket was a coach ticket seat 2A in a one-class A320. At the last minute, JJ substituted the plane with a two-class aircraft and I had the chance to sit in the business class section of the plane. Service was identical for everybody but I had the opportunity to enjoy the comfort of more legroom. I am looking forward to flying JJ again soon.

Alternate confirmed as Santarem, the closer JJ base.

I'm lucky. Tam keep a reserve aircraft and it's used on GRU-GIG-GRU. So all the days back from Rio i have the opportunity of flying on C seats (without C service) as they nowadays grant the seats for the top customers (Fidelidade Vermelho). Same on GRU-GIG legs JJ8011 and JJ8005.
Today 9 out of 12 was occupied on JJ3497 GIG-GRU leg.
