I recently read an article in the 'Financial Post' stating that Canadi>n had deferred delivery of ten new Airbus A320's. The article said that the aircraft were to be delivered in 2001-2002, but that they had been postponed for a year. I also know that Canadi>n acquired another A320 this month (has anyone seen an A320 in the new livery? This one would be). Obviously they are planning on expanding the Airbus fleet. Does anyone have more info on this? Thanks.

I saw an A320 with the new livery come into YYZ this month. (Must have been it)

I know that they have re-painted an A320, maybe that was the one. Because I also heard that they moved the delivery date back for those 320's. They are going to replace alot of the 737's. I also heard that they are considering getting som 777's that were canceled by the asian airlines and that are sitting in the desert right now. Also they may be taking on the American fleet of F100's. American wants to get rid of them and they would be perfect for the Canadian Shuttle flights on the Golden Triangle Routs. (YYZ,YUL,YOW) (YVR,YYC,YEG).

Slawko, AA really wants to get rid of its F100's? Those would be a perfect replacement for Canadi>n Regional's F28's, you're right, on those triangle routes. I always thought the F100 would be perfect for CA, i know that at one point Inter-Canadi>n operated at least one F100. I havn't heard anything about them looking for 777s. I do know that they are getting two brand new 767-300s late this year, to replace older DC-10's. I went through Calgary this past week, and saw a 737 in the new colours, and the airport signage looks incredible. They are doing a great job, who would know they were in the midst of a financial crisis?

Ha! This is a fantacy. Canadian hardly has the cash to keep its present fleet in the air and no $$ to buy a new one. It would be nice to see a 777 in Canadian colours but thats not going to happen for a long time, if ever. About the F-100s, why does American want to get rid of them. They have a fairly sizable fleet of them, and the F-100 is newer technology.

Its obviously fantasy, CGAGN, to think that CA will "buy" new planes in the near future. I know the financial situation at Canadian. But to get your hands on more aircraft, you dont need billions. They've added three more planes to their fleet in the past six months, by leasing. Two brand new 767-300s are coming this year, by leasing. Thats not fantasy. And, as for the A320 deliveries, scheduled for three years from now, I hardly think the Financial Post would publish the "fantasies" of Kevin Benson.

YMQ, no one is talking about China Airlines. We're talking about Canadi>n, and i have heard from nowhere that AA is even planning on getting rid of it's F100's.
